CareRx is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team in supporting LTC Homes and Retirement Communities.
The Pharmacy Assistant will assist with the preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries, while supporting daily operations in accordance with the Pharmacy Standards of Practice. This entry-level role includes training provided to ensure precise record-keeping and workflow management for prescriptions. Assist with inventory, returns, and compliance packaging to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.

Requirements
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program preferred, but not required - training provided
- Experience with KROLL and/or PacMed an asset
- Visual acuity, numeracy, detail oriented, manual dexterity required for handling strip packs, prescription bottles and labels
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
Responsibilities
- Ensure precise record-keeping and fill prescription information from nursing staff via dispensary software
- Prepare medication for compliance packaging and maintain workflow for receiving and processing prescriptions within timelines
- Assist with pharmacy inventory management and operate automated dispensing machine (PacMed) for processing prescriptions
- Manage returns and expired products from nursing homes, including unpacking, sorting and disposal of medications
- Prepare creams and liquids, and generate daily and weekly production reports
- Maintain stock levels, reorder medications, and prepare both manual and automated compliance packaging
- Ensure accurate documentation, maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and contribute to a clean pharmacy environment
