A typical day involves accurate processing of prescriptions, including insurance billing follow-ups with third-party payers. Provide exemplary customer service to clinic staff, nurses, and physicians via phone/email. Label, pick, and package prescriptions per Standard Operating Procedures for safe, efficient patient supply.

Adhere to all relevant guidelines, including Provincial College of Pharmacists requirements and safe medication storage. Manage inventory by ordering, maintaining, and organizing supplies. Actively contribute to reviewing pharmacy policies and procedures while preparing medications for shipping in cold chain coolers.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently under direction from the Pharmacist
  • Scope of practice permitting assistance in compounding
  • Familiarity with prescription processing and third-party insurance billing
  • Knowledge of Provincial College of Pharmacists regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in inventory management and reconciliation for pharmacy dispensing
  • Experience handling accounts receivables and payments in pharmacy context
  • Strong customer service skills for interactions with healthcare professionals via phone/email

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process prescriptions for all programs/medications, including following up on insurance billing issues with third-party payers/patient support programs
  • Provide exemplary customer service to clinic staff, nurses, and physicians primarily by phone/email
  • Label, pick and package prescriptions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to ensure supply to patients in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines including established Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements by the Provincial College of Pharmacists
  • Ensure safe and appropriate storage of medications
  • Manage inventory and reconciliation, including ordering, maintaining, and organizing appropriate inventory and packaging supplies
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with health care professionals, reimbursement coordinators, private payers, and patients
  • Prepare medications for shipping, including packing into cold chain coolers, and arrange delivery services/couriers
