About this role

AdaptHealth offers full-service home medical equipment products and services to empower patients to live their best lives out of the hospital and in their homes. Pharmacy Technicians perform many pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. They assist by filling and dispensing prescriptions, answering phones, and stocking shelves.

Daily tasks include receiving and filling prescription requests, verifying information on written prescriptions and refills for completeness and accuracy. Technicians count tablets, measure and pour liquids into bottles, label prescription bottles, and prepare sterile solutions. They process requests by phone or electronically from doctors’ offices and retrieve, weigh, and mix medications to specification.

In the pharmacy department, maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs, establish and maintain patient profiles. Answer customer questions, explain pricing, advise on over-the-counter medications, and refer medical queries to pharmacists. Order, label, count stock, enter inventory data into computer, and purge unclaimed prescriptions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification in the state(s) of practice
  • Registered with the applicable Board of Pharmacy and in good standing
  • One year of prior Pharmacy experience preferred
  • Ability to enter inventory data into computer
  • Knowledge of proper drug storage and security conditions
  • Familiarity with preparing sterile solutions and measuring medications
