Cognito LLC, a Planned Systems International joint venture, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the ICE Health Services Corps at T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, TX. As a civilian contractor, utilize abilities to provide safe delivery of high-quality health care to those in ICE custody. IHSC serves as medical experts for ICE detainee health care under DHS.
Responsible for provision of full range of pharmacy services at the facility and ensuring compliance with IHSC Pharmaceutical Services Directive and Guide. Perform all duties related to preparation and dispensing of medication orders. Provide direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice and current accepted practice.

Requirements
- Current licensure, certification, credentialing, or granted privileges as Pharmacy Technician
- Ability to perform functions in accordance with accepted pharmacy practice
- Knowledge to recognize prescription problems requiring pharmacist consultation
- Judgment and experience to alert pharmacist to therapeutic problems immediately
- Ability to prioritize dispensing requests based on critical nature
- Compliance with ICE Health Service Corps Pharmaceutical Services Directive and Guide
- Scope of Practice for providing pharmacy services in detention facility setting
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties related to preparation and dispensing of medication orders
- Provide direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice
- Provide treatment of persons throughout the life span as appropriate to facility setting
- Respond to and coordinate response to medical emergencies
- Read individual prescriptions and determine the name of the drug, strength, and dosage
- Set up prescriptions by obtaining correct drug stock, counting medication, and placing in containers for pharmacist check
- Consult with Clinical Services Manager or clinical pharmacist to clarify prescription problems
- Receive supplies and check receipts against requisitions, checking for shortages, breakage, deterioration, and expiration
