A Pharmacy Technician contributes to AHF by demonstrating the competencies of a Level I Technician as described in the Scope of Practice and Responsibilities in the AHF Pharmacy Policy. Be sensitive to the stigma of HIV and associated comorbidities, understanding barriers to care and patients' needs for anonymity and privacy. You will be a passionate advocate for our top initiatives.

Work as part of a close-knit team to establish and maintain good working relationships with healthcare providers, staff and referral sources. Facilitate the exchange of patient demographics and medication treatment plans. AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.

Requirements

  • State Pharmacy Technician License (if applicable)
  • PTCB certification preferred
  • IMZ certification preferred
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Understanding of difficulty treating chronic diseases like HIV
  • Knowledge of barriers to care in HIV/AIDS treatment
  • Ability to maintain patient anonymity and privacy

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competencies of a Level I Pharmacy Technician per AHF Pharmacy Policy, Procedure and Training manual
  • Maintain sensitivity to the stigma of HIV and associated comorbidities
  • Understand barriers to care and importance of patients’ needs to maintain anonymity and privacy
  • Advocate passionately for top initiatives
  • Ensure AHF Core Values and Mission stay top of mind in all actions
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, staff and referral sources
  • Facilitate exchange of patient demographics and medication treatment plans
  • Adapt in a dynamic environment to provide the best experience for clients
