About this role
Retail Pharmacy Technician provides timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, within the scope of the Ohio Administrative Code. This casual position covers weekends and vacation relief. It supports efficient medication handling in a retail pharmacy setting.
Assist Pharmacists in retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration. Tasks include accurate preparation and timely delivery of patient-specific medications, plus enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds. Maintain inventory, replenishments, and drug stock while documenting distribution for reimbursement.
Support Pharmacists with medication or patient care issues and prior authorizations. Enter and retrieve information from electronic health records or prescription processing systems. Handle insurance claims processing in a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy environment.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Registration with State Board of Pharmacy
- Six months of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy
- 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42
- Maintains registration throughout the course of employment
Responsibilities
- Assist Pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration
- Accurately prepare patient medications
- Accurately and timely deliver patient specific medications
- Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications
- Maintain inventory, medication replenishments, and drug stock
- Assist the Pharmacist with medication or patient care related issues
- Assist the Pharmacist with prior authorizations for medications
- Document the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement
