About this role
At Children’s Mercy, the Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with hospital and pharmacy goals. Pharmacists review drug orders for appropriateness including drug, dose, and frequency. They identify and resolve drug-related problems like allergies and interactions.
Pharmacists oversee supportive personnel and focus knowledge on assessing and improving patient care. They remain cognizant of medication-related safety risks and resolve or escalate issues timely. Role may allow remote work based on department needs at manager discretion.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in pharmacy from an accredited school
- No experience necessary; on-the-job training provided
- Licensed Pharmacist - MO or equivalent
- Obtain Licensed Pharmacist - MO within 90 days if not held at hire
- Proof of pharmacy technician license, intern license, or application to board prior to hire
Responsibilities
- Review all drug orders and judge appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency
- Identify and resolve drug-related problems such as potential allergic reactions and interactions
- Oversee activities of supportive personnel working in the area
- Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request according to policies, procedures, and protocols
- Ensure safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients
- Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department
- Maintain competence required for position
- Resolve or escalate medication-related patient safety risks in a timely manner
