Spire Parkway Hospital has an exciting bank opportunity for a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist. This role is ideally suited to someone looking for the challenge of delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service within hospital settings. The hospital offers specialist treatments including cancer care.
Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull is rated Good by the CQC for all parts except Patient Care, which is Outstanding. It includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation and cutting-edge surgical procedures.
You will work as part of a close knit specialist oncology and haematology team ensuring a highly personalised service to patients. Duties involve liaising with specialist nursing staff for daily patient workload and utilising planning skills for chemotherapy medications. Pre-assess patients by reviewing test results to ensure safety for treatment.
Review and release medications at discharge and make follow up calls to review side effects and provide support. Requirements
- Current GPhC registration with a minimum of 1 year post qualifying practice in Hospital settings
- Experience within Oncology Pharmacy is essential
- Current dispensing and screening experience
- Oncology experience with BOPA SACT verification passport
- At least 2 years post registration experience in Oncology desired
- Confident in ability to work autonomously and develop the service
- Excellent communicator interacting with patients across various departments
Responsibilities
- Liaise with specialist nursing staff to ensure appropriate patient workload daily
- Utilise planning skills to ensure all chemotherapy medications are ordered and received ready for treatment
- Pre-assess patients, review test results and assess safety to proceed to treatment
